In theater, reality is made to conform to a directing vision, dramaturgy, choreography – the body is usually submissive to the text, character, identity, psychology, situation. This representation paradigm, in which we make reality to conform to our ideas, is central in art, in our society of spectacle, and probably in our lives. And, incidentally, it is destroying nature, the world. In Inverse theater, the body takes over, generating the speech, the situation, the piece, and, through extension, reality. The body's numbed capacity to affect and to be affected might awake. When we inverse theater, representation, control, we might again unknow what a body can do, and what the world can be.
